Noise during your stay
Report disruptive noise and distinguish it from an alarm or equipment problem.
On this page
For music, voices or other recurring noise, message your host with the time, duration and where you hear it. Use the quiet hours in your booking or house rules; these can differ by property.
Describe the disruption
Say whether the noise is ongoing, intermittent or happened at a particular time. Identify the room affected and the apparent source only if you know it. A short recording from inside your own apartment may help; avoid recording private conversations or filming neighbours.
Ask your host for the appropriate next step. Do not enter another unit or confront neighbours yourself.
Equipment noises and beeping
For a rattling heater, fan or appliance, identify the equipment and describe the sound. Follow the heating and cooling checks if relevant. Do not open equipment panels or change building controls.
An alarm or detector is a safety device. Do not remove it, cover it or disconnect its battery to stop a beep. Report the device and pattern to your host. For a sounding alarm, smoke, gas or immediate danger, follow the emergency steps and call 911 when needed.
